Karakia is a chant used in the rituals of the Maori tribe in New Zealand that means both blessing and prayer. In the Maori tradition, health and healing are anchored in harmony, unity and balance.  This delicate balance lies within the physical, natural and spiritual worlds. Performed, sung or recited the karakia is a part of daily life that is done in the morning, at mealtime, and at events such as the birth of a child. The beauty and reverence in this word is why we chose this as part of the name for our company.
